CORDOVA DISTRICT FISHERMEN UNITED ENDORSES KREISS-TOMKINS FOR GOVERNOR
Today, Democratic candidate for Alaska governor Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins (JKT) announced an endorsement from Cordova District Fishermen United — JKT’s third endorsement of the campaign from a commercial fishing organization.
Cordova District Fishermen United (CDFU) represents and advocates for Prince William Sound commercial fishermen across all gear groups. CDFU promotes safety at sea, legislation, conservation, management, and the general welfare of the north-central Gulf of Alaska commercial fishing community.
ALASKA LONGLINE FISHERMEN’S ASSOCIATION ENDORSES KREISS-TOMKINS FOR GOVERNOR
ALFA’s endorsement speaks to Kreiss-Tomkins’ deep understanding of Alaska’s fisheries and his work on behalf of commercial fishing communities in and out of the legislature. JKT served as a member of the Alaska House of Representatives Fisheries Committee for 10 years, was endorsed throughout his legislative career by United Fishermen of Alaska, was engaged in the North Pacific Fishery Management Council advocating for Alaska’s interests, and served on the board of the Alaska Sustainable Fisheries Trust.
“Endorsing a political candidate is a rare move for our organization,” said ALFA Executive Director Linda Behnken. “This year we are taking a stand because all our fishermen recognize the need for real change in management of Alaska’s fisheries and our board is united in support of JKT.”
KREISS-TOMKINS RELEASES FIRST TELEVISION AD
Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins’ (JKT’s) campaign for Alaska governor today announced that its first television advertisement is live on broadcast television and cable. The ad reservation is another major investment into boosting JKT’s message of change.
“Our campaign is moving up in the polls because Alaskans know our state needs new energy and new ideas,” said Kreiss-Tomkins. “We’re excited to share a message of change with more Alaskans over the airwaves, and put the failed Dunleavy era decisively in Alaska’s rearview mirror.”
JKT SURGES IN NEW POLL; WITHIN MARGIN OF ERROR OF FIRST Place
Public Policy Polling found JKT tied for second place with Republican Dave Bronson and just 3 points behind Democrat Tom Begich, within the poll’s +/- 4.2% margin of error.
JKT has mounted the largest increase in support of any candidate in the field, in both absolute and percentage terms, according to publicly available polling since April.
Among voters who have heard of him, JKT is leading the field with 26% support to 16% for Bronson and 15% for Begich.
